DAY 1:
Arrival in Targu Mures (12.30) 3 – 3 ½ hours transfer to Sibiu for overnight accommodation in a central 3* hotel: Imparatul Romanilor
DAY 2:
Leisure morning in Sibiu (80 ha of old architecture), then drive to the mountains via little back road with villages.
Drive to your mountain accommodation (near Brasov and Bran castle), 2 hours driving.
Accommodation in Piatra Craiului Mountains in a cozy guesthouse with wonderful views over Bucegi and Piatra Craiului Mountains.
Dinner at the accommodation.

DAY 3:
Walk from your accommodation over the hills to Bran Castle. A 5 -6 hours walk with over 600 m altitude difference. Picnic lunch.
Visit Bran Castle, one of the oldest medieval castles in Romania, built in 1377. Since 1920 the castle has become the summer residence of Queen Marie of Romania, the grand-daughter of Queen Victoria of England. The castle is strangely linked to the Count Dracula, even if it is doubtful that Vlad the Impaler ever spent the night here.
Dinner at the accommodation. Same accommodation as previous night.

DAY 4:
An easy walk along the village on the foothills of the mountains. Wonderful views over the mountains with super autumn colors of the forest. The car will pick us for our next accommodation and a visit to Brasov. Spend the after noon in Brasov with a climb at the White Tower for spectacular views over the square.
Lunch as picnic, provided by our host.
Your accommodation is in the small village of Crit, where Mihaela cooks delicious organic and home grown products.

DAY 5:
A short drive to Viscri to spend some time in the village and to visit its fortified church (Unesco heritage).
Viscri is a remote village with a beautiful 12th fortified church, Unesco heritage. Beside the one-room church and the traditional house architecture, we can still find treasures of many Saxon civilization families. Viscri is the headquarter of Mihai Eminescu Trust (English trustee aims to preserve the villages fabric, remedy their loss of income and revive their sense of community. The Trust helps the inhabitants to develop new sources of revenue and the restore their houses with sympathetic use of traditional materials.
Start your walk, passing forest and flowery meadows to head to Meschendorf. The locals call this path “Prince Charles path”, as he walked on it few years ago. 4-5 hours walk.
Dinner at the accommodation.

DAY 6:
We start by car with a visit to Sighisoara.
Sighisoara is considered to be the most beautiful and complete medieval architectural assemble of Romania and the most beautiful inhabited citadel throughout Europe. Sighisoara is also the birth place of Vlad the Impaler, connected according Bram Stoker’s novel with Count Dracula. The medieval citadel is perched on a hillock and is fortified with a 14th century wall.
We then drive to Floresti for a private lunch. From here we start a easy and pleasant walk to Malancrav, our overnight stop. We will stay in Mihai Eminescu Trust restored guesthouses, spread on the village. Dinner provided by a host in one guesthouse.

DAY 7:
From Malancrav we start a walk over the rolling hills and crossing the villages of Noul Sasesc, Copsa Mare, to arrive to Biertan, where held the biggest rural fortified church in Saxon Transylvania, Unesco heritage. 5 – 6 h walk.
Picnic lunch provided by our host.
Transfer by car to Sibiu (or Targu Mures) for overnight accommodation in a 3* central hotel.
Dinner independent.
